A good deck material for West Michigan needs to resist moisture, rot, cracking, warping, and fading. If you’re like us and youre from West Michigan, you know we have some of the harshest weather around, everything from lake-effect snow, humid summers, and constant freeze thaw temperatures.
That is exactly why we dont use the same materials most builders use. Not all deck building materials are made equal. Just because a product is popular in other areas, doesnt mean its the best option for Michigan.
Over the past 5 years we’ve researched, tested, and worked with a wide range of building materials.
Since then we’ve narrowed it down to a few select products, and hand picked each supplier so that we are left with a finished product we can stand behind – or on.

When you work with Construction Kings, you work directly with the owners. We’re the ones answering the phone, meeting you at your home, and building your deck.
There’s no salesperson handing your job off to a crew you’ve never met. We stay involved from the first visit to the final board, so communication stays simple and the quality stays where it should be.
Our Story
We’re Kam Schnick and Kai DeBoer, business partners and the two owners behind Construction Kings.
We started the company in 2022 taking on all kinds of small construction jobs. It didn’t take long for us to realize decks were what we were best at. So we went all in, poured our time, money, and effort into becoming the best deck builders around.
Today, deck building is our sole focus, and this is our best year yet.
This year, (2026) we are on track to complete more than 40 deck projects, and help more than 100 customers.
